Start Planning

Eventhough the wedding is next year, of course the planning has to start now. It's not simple. The decision making part is the toughest part. Ammy (one of my best friend and my wedding planner) asked me to MAKE UP MY MIND!!!! ha3 how to make up my mind when there are so many styles keep changing month by month?
During lunch today, I started to google for information on how to plan the wedding. Of course I want to make it as a wedding to be remembered. ha3. I am not a celebrity to have a million ringgit wedding, but a simple ones will do. Simple yet stylish/extra ordinary. But the extra ordinary part will be upon approval from the 1st generation ie my grandparents! ha3

First thing first.
1. Imagine your dream wedding
Well, when I was young, my dream is to marry a handsome prince and live happily ever after! (with the horse carriage, a heavy gown, etc) ha3 Since it is OUR wedding, of course I have to ask him which is suitable!

2. Stay organised
Yup, I have an organiser created specially for this reason - everything that catch my eyes let it be the colors, the design, gifts, etc. The budget list, the hantaran, the dulangs, etc

3. Pick a date
It's going to be next year, but WE HAVEN'T DECIDED on the DATE!

4. Make a first draft guest list
DONE! (for my part)

5. Register early
This would be for the kursus and all sorts that we need to settle with the religious office.

6. Set your budget
DONE!

7. Find the ceremony & reception site
For the akad nikah will be either at home or at mosque.
For my reception, will be at some place (haven't decided yet)

8. Consider your colors
I am planning with something different out of the norm.

9. Ask your attendants
Of course my family and relatives will be at the wedding as early as possible.

10. Start looking for vendors
Photographer - done
Mak andam - done
the rest belum lagi.

11. Look for dresses
Well, I have few options in mind.

12. Book hotel rooms
ha3. of course this is for my relatives all the way from Singapore. But I think they will do it on their own. I'll just suggest few hotels nearby the reception area.

Yesterday, the lady boss brought us out for a lunch treat. According to her, she kept disturbing us for information, so in return she brought the whole office out for lunch at Tenji, Solaris. It was a lunch Japanese buffet. To tell you the truth, I've never eaten lunch that much. We were there from 12.40pm-3pm. From sushi to local and western, all been covered. ha3 It was the best lunch ever. Actually, all of us at office wanted to go to Tenji for such a long time (because of the buffet) but our lunch time is only for 1 hr. Mana cukup masa nak makan buffet!

My all time fav. is oyster and sashimi! yummy! I like! After I tried all the Japanese selections, I went to the local ones. The black pepper mutton was the best! Not spicy at all. Then I went to the western corner. I saw something that makes me mengeliur-->BAKED OYSTER!

OMG! This is heaven! I am speechless now remembering the taste, the cheese, the texture, the.....(droooling sambil mata juling) Tak tahan seh! Sampai ke tidur I dok terbayang baked oyster ni. Hari ni sebab dah craving sangat, I ajak semua orang pergi Secret Recipe makan Prawn Macaroni with (x-tra) Cheese. Substitute to the baked oyster. OMG again!

Sakit Hati

Sakit hati sangat bila dapat tau French Film Festival(FFF) dah habis SEMALAM!!!! Disebabkan kesibukan kerja yang teramat sangat (alhamdullilah audit dah habis, tunggu mana2 query last minute yang perlu diselesaikan), nak update blog pun tak de masa.
Alkisah, last month masa keluar dating (biasalah kan, smuda mudi, tapi jangan salah faham...kami hanya bertemu bila perlu je). Agenda seperti biasa menonton wayang2 yang ada. Kekadang tu ada gak menyelit aktiviti membantu menjana ekonomi negara. I rasa nak je beli share GSC lah. Banyak sangat contribution I kat diorg. Bayangkan sekali pergi tengok wayang, back to back 2 wayang! Tak lama lagi ingin I pecah kan rekod back to back 4 wayang. Ada brani? ha3..
Okok..alkisahnya masa tgh tunggu turn nak masuk panggung, I ternampaklah banner ada FFF. Masa browse cerita2 yang ditayangkan, I tertarik dengan cerita ini--> COCO AVANT CHANEL, biography about Coco Chanel. Yesterday was the last day of FFF. SAKIT HATI!!!! (rileks ar, leh cari dvd)

If you are a fan of AFC, I bet you know who she is. She is the chef in "French food at Home". I really enjoyed her cooking style and furthermore I love french food. ( Actually I love all kind of food) The taste is different, and I like the part when she made salad using all kind of weird leaves!
This is what happened when I only watch TV 4 times a month. I missed the opportunity to attend "A French affair with Laura Calder". She is now in Singapore! urghhhh geram!

Well, even though the BIG day is next year, there are so many things that has to be settled and decided as time is of essence.
This is the toughest among all other matters. HOUSE HUNTING. It's tougher than shopping for shoes! ha3. I have been browsing Malaysia Property & real Estate's website, it seems that landed houses are so damn expensive. Young & middle income earners like me can't afford to buy such property.

What ARE our main concerns?

1. Rent/buy
--> if rental is as much as installment, mights well we buy it. We have an asset, the property will appreciate over times, etc. I Google for our decision, and it seems that we made the right choice.

2. Location
--> we have found few (somewhere in the middle location)

3. What kind of property?
--> condo/apartment is our choice.

4. New or for sale?
--> It depends on the price. But nowadays developers are building houses for higher income group. A landed house in Shah Alam costing RM1m++ (built up 22 x 75, more or less), a cheaper range (below RM300k) landed house is somewhere in Rawang or Klang.
--> For condo/apartment, it's focus on the value of per sq.ft. I've found one 800+ sq.ft apartment costing RM110k. Is that expensive or cheap?
--> If buy a for sale property, fully or partly furnished contribute to the sale price. But for me, if I am to buy a property, at least partly furnished with kitchen cabinets would be sufficient.

Doing 2 things at the same time is very exhausted. Especially that involve the BRAIN. Thank god we are living in an IT world, every information need is just a click away.
What am I referring too? mm... Well, I already started planning for next year. You know THE DAY! ha3. It seems like there are so many things to do--> from color scheme to venue of the wedding. si dia and I had a discussion last Sat (8/5/2010). We haven't really decided on the dates yet, but this raya will be the day for both of us to announce it to family members. I realize one thing, when si dia is serious, he is SERIOUS. he3 When he said it has to be this way, well this way it is. ha3 Based on past experience and current relationship, I am finally can agree on things with si dia.
Our focus during the discussion was on $ issue. To tell you the truth, si dia is thrifty and I am spendthrift. What a total opposite. He is good with managing his finances. Me, on the other hand, I will worry about it later. ha3 We came to an agreement on the amount both of us need to save. It's a huge budget which will cover almost everything. I think in the end both of our parents will only need to chip in some and there will be sponsorship from relatives and friends. ha3
Another thing we also agreed on the color scheme for the solemnization and the reception on his side. I am still trying to decide on my side. Damn, there are too many colors! ha3 We also discuss on whether to get engage or not. The best part was, si dia said I only need to worry on my side and he will worry on his side. Cool! I think by end of this year we should have decided on the dates and the mak andam, the boutique, etc...I only want a simple wedding yet a meaningful ones. I mean what's important is that we don't over-spend or over-do just for the wedding and later on we have nothing left to start a life.
The on-going main concern is to find a suitable location to stay. Since both of us is working at two different directions, we are trying to find somewhere in the middle. We have listed down the probable places, and hopefully, we will find a suitable place to call home.

It was Mother's Day. But I went out with Geng EMO sebab ibu mengandung mengidam nak makan laksa & nasi lemak mak Zarina. Jadi pagi tu semua breakfast kat rumah Zarina, bergosip, catch up semua. Rasa dah lama tak jumpa semua orang. Lepas tu kami pergi OU tengok The Losers dan lepak.

Happy Mother's Day

Almaklumlah anak ibu ni ramai. Jadi sebagai anak sulung, I memang dah buat lah apa yang patut. I ni boleh lah dikatakan rapat dengan ibu. Biasalah 'mother-daughter' ni pasti ada je tak kena kan. Tapi sejak dewasa ni (sejak bila i tak sure, tapi rasa sejak dengan si dia), I ni dah mellowed down. Banyak bersabar. Kekadang tu memang rasa nak cakap, "Saya bangkang, Yang Arif", tapi sejak tak mahu sejarah berulang semula (sebab kalo ada argument, pasti takkan selesai), I ni banyak mendiamkan diri dari berkata-kata. Memandangkan memang I ni tinggal kat rumah family, dah tentulah I tau citarasa ibu. One thing about Ibu, she likes my stuffs like shoes and handbag. Nasib baik baju I dia tak muat. Silap2 dia pun nak. ha3
Yang I tak faham tu, padahal kalo dia shopping, memang banyaklah. (macam I) Sekali beli kasut, 2-3 pasang. Tapi semua katenya tak best. Sakit kaki lah, itu lah inilah. Beli handbag pun, mahal2 tapi handbag I juga menjadi pujaan hati dia. ha3 Kebetulan awal tahun hari tu, I spend a lot on new clothes, handbags and shoes. Ibu boleh berkenan dengan handbags I tu. Satu handbag I bawa jalan2, satu handbag kerja. Kasut Elle I dah dikebas. ha3. Ibu kate kasut tu best. mmm...
Tak terfikir lak adik2 laki yang lain akan beli sesuatu untuk ibu. Semalam, I saja je melarikan diri, sebab tak nak menyibukkan diri buat itu ini sempena Hari Ibu. Rasa bersalah, tapi terpaksa ku bohong sunat semata2 nak melarikan diri seketika dari tanggungjawab.
I balik rumah I tengok kat dapur ada 3 kek! ha3. I tanya ibu, sapa beli. Ibu kate adik2 laki I. I gelak2. I cakap, they want to make you fat. Ibu agreed! ha3...
Okok, ni hadiah yang I beli untuk Ibu. I dah kasi masa Jumaat lepas, sebab excited teramat sangat.

ha..well it's not about a credit card, but more on the qualification I received from FIMM-Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia. (formerly known as FMUTM-Federation of Malaysian Unit Trust Managers)
Earlier this year, my boss wanted me to sit for the unit trust exam for the company. It was put on hold for few months until end of March when I realized that my compliance has to submit the results to the Securities Commission by mid-April. She registered me and my colleague the soonest date available, but the only available date was on 8 April 2010. Old habit kicked in. We received the manual book upon registration on end of March, but we only managed to study like a day before the exam. We were so freaked out because besides for personal achievement, we are doing it for the company. During the exam day (we opt for afternoon session), we went straight to the examination place and sat there until 12.30pm, doing last minute studying. There were not enough time to cover (if I am not mistaken) 8 topics, so we just did the sample questions.
The examination was computerized. We were given 60 objective questions for 2 hours. I personally feel so stress because every candidates were punching their calculators like MAD!!!! Some even brought 2 kind of calculators-normal & scientific.
We sat quite close to each other but my colleague and I were separated. According to my colleague, each set of questionnaire is not the same. Meaning my no. 1 question is not your no. 1 questions. So the chances of copying is very slim.
There was this candidate who finished it in 30 minutes. I told my colleague that we better make use of the 2 hours. But by 1 hour, we have completed answering, and I even checked my answers 3 times! ha3.
The result came out immediately. I was relief that I pass the exam. Frankly, if I dont pass this exam, I think it is such a humiliation because I work in unit trust, at least bits & pieces I know about it.
I told my boss that we only study in the last minute (like for few hours) and we pass the examination. He treated us for lunch. ha3

Recently, FIMM has changed the rulings that those who wants to sit for this examination has to attend a 20 credit hours of seminar upon examination. Thank god!

So by passing this examination, I am a qualified person to sell a unit trust product, in this case, FOR my company.

I went to pharmacy to get myself Vitamin C yesterday. Because everybody in the office is having flu, sore throat and fever. Prevention is better than cure. I can't afford have all the symptoms at this moment. I am very busy in preparation for audit. I chose the 250mg because it is not that sour.
While choosing the which brand to buy (and of course the price), I came across this....

ha3... sorry I just can't stop laughing when seeing this supplement. According to my friend, there this herb that when the goat eat it, the goat will get horny. The herder wonder what happened, he tried the herbs too. he too became horny! I am not sure whether it is true or not. But it is the best laugh for the day!

Tenison giler. Pagi2 Isnin semua orang dah buat aku sakit hati. Tension kat colleague2 yang mengada2. Datang lambatlah, MC lah-->semua tak geti nak beritahu. Tension kat SESEORANG kat office ni yang dok tanya aku jalan. Ko ingat aku ni dok goyang kaki ke? Dok kacau aku. Pergilah tanya orang lain. Aku ni banyak keje. Ni mula lah kan semua perkara secara detail pun aku tak suka. Bunyi phone kuat giler, sms ko melambak2 masuk, ganggu aku tau! Ko pasang radio (thru hp) pun aku leh dengar walaupun ko pakai earphone. Aku siap leh tahu ko pilih siaran apa. Ko suka lalu kat tmepat aku amik tisu banyak2, padahal kat pantry ada tisu tebal. Lepas tu ko suka alihkan barang aku semata2 nak lalu amik tisu kat tempat aku. LAgi satu aku tak tahan, bau minyak rambut ko. Aduh, tolong. Tiap2 hari bau minyak rambut dia membuatkan aku sakit kepala. Loya pun ada. Aku rasa dia pakai Berylcream. (lantaklah aku tak tau nak eja)

OK sudah. Aku hanya TENSION hari ni je. Aku banyak keje ni. Nak interview assistant lah, nak prepare untuk auditlah, nak jawab audit query lah, nak settle kan hal directorship lah! CUKUP!
